With artistic flair, a masterful sense of color and the belief that home should be a place that reflects your most authentic self, Stella Ludwig doesn't just design spaces. She creates "realms" for her clients to thrive in.

As someone who spent decades "at the bench" hand-forging jewelry, I've always felt a deep pull toward artists who pour their soul into their craft. That's exactly what drew me to Stella Ludwig. To Stella, interior design isn't just about making a room look beautiful; it's about storytelling. She believes a home should be a sanctuary—a place that truly reflects your strongest, most authentic self.
The moment I met Stella, I knew we were kindred spirits. We both share a bone-deep love for the vibrancy of color and a commitment to uncompromising artistic flair. We both believe that luxury is deeply personal. Whether it's a hand-finished piece of jewelry or a custom-curated living room, the things we choose to surround ourselves with should be an outward expression of our inner strength.
My years spent sculpting precious metals taught me that every tiny detail must have a purpose. Stella proves that same truth every day: when you design with intention, you don't just change a room—you elevate a life. Stella doesn't just design spaces; she creates "realms" for her clients to thrive in. I couldn't be prouder to call her a peer, a dear forever friend and a new Real Woman of REALM.

Q + A with Stella
I design luxury homes for people who want to fall in love with where they live. Homes that look effortless and feel intentional. My job is to make sure your space works beautifully — and quietly shows off a little.
When I'm not working, I'm intentionally slowing down and refilling my inspiration cup. Off the clock you can find me appreciating other beautifully crafted spaces, enjoying artwork, relishing in a delicious meal or savoring a good conversation with my friends and family abroad.
Anything that impacts children's health and their access to healthcare. I'm a huge fan of Alex's Lemonade and have enjoyed watching their work grow and expand.

Cool + Soft + Alluring + Modern: Color stories weave through jewelry, fashion and interior design. REALM's Spirit Pavé Cuff in Sterling Silver + CZ Rose from REALM's new CZ Rose collection and a Philadelphia pied-à-terre designed by Stella Ludwig Interiors LLC
It was traveling, more specific to Southeast Asia where while wandering around a bookstore, I came across a book (whose title to this day I cannot recall) that discussed the importance of color and its impact on psychology. That book was such an expansive experience for me in that it grounded me in the understanding of how our external surroundings impact our internal well-being.
My work is rooted in both technical understanding of spaces and how they impact our day-to-day, while also balancing the sensuous nature of how we experience said spaces. Yes, interior design is about aesthetics. It's also about sound, texture, scent and ease.

Ha! Just three? You're challenging me here.
1. Open yourself to the possibilities.
Oftentimes, we can get fixed into one point of view or expectation of ourselves. Some of the most meaningful work I have had the privilege to do is when clients have opened themselves up to elements they previously didn't consider and the possibilities that openness has now provided them with. Whether it's a dash of color here or a refinement there, being open to seeing things in ways you haven't had a chance to consider before can do wonders for your space and frankly…your life too.
2. You know more than you think you know.
Clients can often come with a sense of having lost or no design compass which is totally fine. There are endless choices and that can quickly become overwhelming. In those moments, it's not only perfectly okay but encouraged that you get in touch with yourself and take things step-by-step and ask how a possible element or color makes you feel and that insight can unlock a deeper knowing in terms of self-knowledge and expression that is vital to enjoying your space.
3. Choose quality.
I know it's been preached from the mountaintops, but I always recommend that my clients provide themselves with the options that have the best quality. I love a good deal as much as the next person, but when it comes to furnishings and items that will be in your space that you will either look at or use every day, you want materials that are designed to go the distance and give you the most runway for your dollars. Yes, it may pinch a bit up front but trust me, in the long run when those dining room chairs have endured 200 gatherings and still have the same shape and form as when they were delivered, you will thank you…and me 🙂
My team would make fun of me because I am about to use words that I use almost all day every day, but they are so true for me. I love things that are elegant, timeless and curated. Those words drive me and hopefully come through in my fashion and design choices.
Quality + Detail + Craftsmanship: REALM's Soirée Pavé Earring in bright gold and emerald green from the INSIGNIA Collection and a “Signature Stella” Living Room on Delancey Street in Philadelphia.
What is there to not love? The attention to detail and craftsmanship. The history behind each piece. Not to mention the quality of the materials.
The Gala Pavé Ring from the VANITY Collection, one of Stella's favorites.
That's an impossible question but if I absolutely have to answer, I have a top three. My first favorite collection is the VANITY collection. Second is SCEPTRE, and third is INSIGNIA. Each collection feels like it brings forth a sense of embodiment that I love to enjoy.
I met the lovely Ann at a Women's Association luncheon a few years back. Obviously, I was knocked back by her sophistication and amazing approachable personality. Luckily for me, we kept running into each other at other events and the rest, as they say, is history.
#BeYourBestSelf
#ReignThoughtfully
Being your best self and reigning thoughtfully for me really means being good to yourself and good to and for others. There is space for everyone at my table, and I love to see those around me win at whatever they are pursuing. Whether it's a colleague of mine or someone on my team, there is space for us all to shine and there is no better feeling than knowing that everyone in the room has each other's support.
Did you know that fashion was my first creative passion, and that sensibility continues to shape how I design interiors today? I approach each space much like fine jewelry or couture—thoughtfully curated, layered with intention and crafted with an eye for beauty and detail. Inspired by European architecture, Parisian elegance, American classicism and the organic colors of nature, my travels continue to influence the palettes and artistry behind my work. I am naturally drawn to brands that share this commitment to quality, craftsmanship and timeless design.
